SEEDED PATCH

These are a variety of herbaceous wild flowering Texas native plants not including grasses, sedges, rushes, trees, and shrubs.

SURFACE DYNAMICS

  • seeded patches are usually a passive surface (rare to occasional human programmed usage).  They are best for viewing + habitat purposes, but usually too delicate for regular interactive use.

WILDFLOWER PATCHES

  • Cultivation season: October – November

  • Native Seed Collections: Edwards Plateau (Hill Country), shady areas, support hummingbirds, butterflies and pollinators, resist deer browse + other specialty collections.dfs
  • Specimen Favorites: Indian blanket (GAPU), Texas gayfeather (LIPUM2), Bee balm (MOFI), Scarlet sage (SACO5)

NATIVE GRASS PATCHES

  • Cultivation season: April – May

  • Native Grass Collections: Blackland Prairie mix, western short grass prairie, shade-tolerant grasses + other combinations.

  • Specimen Favorites: Bushy bluestem (ANGL2), Sideoats grama (BOCU), Blue grama (BOGR2), Little bluestem (SCSC), Indian grass (SONU2)
